Rugged and pristine, the Lost Cost is great for hiking and camping. The Lost Coast Trail winds through the Kings Range Conservation Area and through Sinkyone Wilderness State Park; from the Mouth of the Mattole to Sinkyone. Campsites for hikers are available for overnight camping. There are also some campgrounds located near roads.
